110cm Hand-Forged Tamahagane-Style Long Sword

This full-length Tachi was custom commissioned by a client from the Netherlands. With its extended 80cm blade and elegant proportions, the sword reflects the dignified battlefield presence of classical mounted warrior blades.

Unlike standard katana worn edge-up, the Tachi tradition embodies older samurai lineage and ceremonial prestige, offering a longer curvature profile and commanding reach.

Blade Construction & Metallurgy

Tamahagane-Style Folded Steel

Forged from imitation tamahagane high-carbon steel, the blade is folded and refined to enhance structural strength and visible grain activity.

Clay Tempered Differential Hardening

Traditional clay tempering produces a vivid hamon while maintaining a resilient spine and hardened cutting edge.

36-Step Hand Polish – Three-Tone Finish

The blade undergoes meticulous 36-stage hand polishing with a refined three-color finish, revealing layered steel texture and brilliant edge definition.

Geometry & Proportions

  • Overall Length: 110 cm

  • Blade Length: 80 cm

  • Handle Length: 30 cm

  • Blade Width: 3.0 cm

  • Blade Thickness: 0.6 cm

The elongated form provides superior reach and fluid cutting mechanics. The moderate kasane ensures durability without excessive weight.
